Message	I faced excactly the same problems, TWICE. I have a '96 TT, bought it in '02 with only 8500mls on it. About 2000mls after I installed a JUN engine with GT2530's the whining started, 500mls later I changed the gearbox for an almost new box with less then 15000mls on it. After 2000mls the whining started again. So just last week I took my '96 gearbox appart for a rebuilt and found that all main bearings from main drive shaft, main shaft and counter gear shaft showed pitting. To be honnest I did not us specail gearbox oil. Now I ordered Redline MT-90, but it might be wise to opt for the Shock proof oil.
